Privacy Policy

This page explains what Hitch & Sway collects, what it does not, and who else is involved when you use the site. It is written to be read rather than to be impenetrable.

• Contact form submissions. Your name, email address, optional subject and your message. These are emailed to us so we can reply. They are not added to a mailing list and we do not sell or share them.
• Nothing else. There are no accounts on this site, no logins, no carts and no stored profiles.

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and which links are clicked. It sets cookies and collects standard web analytics data - pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and referring site. We use it in aggregate: we are interested in which guides people find useful, not in individuals.

We also record an event when an affiliate link is clicked, so we can see which recommendations readers act on. That event records the product and the page, not anything about you personally.

When you follow a product link, you are handed to Amazon with our Associates tag attached. From that point Amazon's own privacy policy and cookies apply, and what happens on their site is governed by their terms rather than ours. See our affiliate disclosure for how the arrangement works.

The site is hosted on a commercial hosting platform which keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for operational and security purposes. The contact form additionally applies a short-lived, in-memory rate limit keyed to IP address to prevent automated abuse; that record is not persisted.

The site itself sets no cookies for its own purposes. Google Analytics sets its own, as described above. You can block or clear them in your browser, and the site works normally without them.

• Analytics. Browser settings, extensions or Google's own opt-out tools will stop analytics collection.
• Contact data. Write to us and we will delete your correspondence from our mailbox.
• Children. This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
